Happy Thanksgiving!

We headed to my mom and dad's for lunch on Thanksgiving. After a wonderful meal (as always) Elia "helped" Nana and Poppy decorate their Christmas tree! As soon as she put an ornament on, she pulled it right off! I don't think there will be any ornaments on the bottom half of that tree this year!!!

Pumpkin Patch with Nanna and Poppy

Nanna and Poppy may have started a tradition this year. They took Elia out to a pumpkin patch in the country to find just the perfect pumpkin. While there, she rode on her first hay ride, found her way through a hay maze, and ran around the big field without a care in the world! I'm not sure who had more fun from the looks of these photos!

Our Little Lightning Bug!

We drove home on Halloween from our refreshing anniversary getaway just in time to go trick-or-treating with Elia! Nanna had been hinting all day that she would be able to go outside with all the boys and girls later that evening. Well, she would wait for no man (or mommy and daddy to return home)! Elia was wired for sound. She wouldn't even eat her dinner for the excitement. After getting a few bites of chicken down, we put on her little outfit (it was her first costume she wore last year and so adorable I just had to put it on her again!), put her candy bag around her little arm and out the door we went! She was not too excited about going door to door to receive candy. In fact, when our neighbors tried to put candy in her bag, she said, "No"! It was an entirely different story however, when boys and girls came to our front yard to trick-or-treat! She LOVED everyone coming up to her for candy. She just about chased them down the driveway to make sure they had enough candy. The "girls" came by as they were out trick-or-treating, and Elia seemed like one of the big kids as she ran around in all the excitement. Her friends, Cassy and Drew came by to visit after the candy was all handed out. Nanna and Poppy came by to watch her trick-or-treat and she was really putting on a show! She wasn't sure why so many people came to visit her that night, but she was thrilled! Here are some still shots as well as a quick slide show below!

Our 3rd Anniversary Get Away

Well, we braved leaving town without our little girl this past week, and it we had a wonderful time! We snuck down to Gruene, Texas, where we stayed in a one-room cottage originally built in the 1940's as a fishing cabin. It was perfect. We were steps from the river, where we walked down to each morning. The morning fog was still on top of the water, the air was crisp, and the birds welcomed us with their EARLY morning songs! We were in heaven. We ate great meals, danced at Gruene Hall, and just really enjoyed our time together. We found ourselves talking about our kiddos about a thousand times, and Isaac caught himself humming the Curious George theme song as we waited for our dinner one night! All in all, it was the most perfect way to re-connect. We were definitely ready to get back to our little girl though, just in time for trick-or-treating
